Refund & Returns Policy – Serene Homestay

Overview

At Serene Homestay, we value transparency and fairness in all our dealings with guests. This Refund & Returns Policy outlines the terms under which cancellations, refunds, and booking modifications are handled. By making a reservation with us, you agree to the following conditions:

1. Cancellation by Guests

• Flexible Bookings (7+ days prior to check‑in): Full refund of advance payment, minus applicable transaction charges.
• Standard Bookings (3–6 days prior to check‑in): 50% refund of advance payment.
• Last‑Minute Cancellations (within 72 hours of check‑in): No refund will be issued.

2. No‑Show Policy

Guests who fail to arrive without prior cancellation will be charged the full booking amount. No refunds will be provided.

3. Early Departure

If a guest chooses to leave before the scheduled check‑out date, unused nights are non‑refundable.

4. Modification of Bookings

• Requests to change dates are subject to availability.
• Rate differences (if any) will be applied to modified bookings.
• Only one modification per booking is permitted.

5. Refund Processing

• Approved refunds will be processed within 7–10 business days.
• Refunds will be made to the original payment method used at the time of booking.
• Transaction fees charged by banks or payment gateways are non‑refundable.

6. Cancellation by Serene Homestay

In rare circumstances (e.g., natural disasters, government restrictions, or operational issues), Serene Homestay reserves the right to cancel bookings. In such cases:

• Guests will receive a full refund of advance payments.
• No further liability shall be borne by Serene Homestay beyond the refund amount.

7. Force Majeure

Serene Homestay shall not be held liable for cancellations or service interruptions caused by events beyond our reasonable control, including but not limited to natural calamities, strikes, pandemics, or government actions.

8. Legal Jurisdiction

This policy is governed by the laws of India, and any disputes shall fall under the jurisdiction of the courts in Darjeeling, West Bengal.
